The concert today featured LAphil under Esa-pekka and Sarah Chang. Went there with ChinWei, ChinYing and their mom.
haha. ChinYing is so hilarious!
And ChinWei had this tape over her ankle that she's too lazy
to remove after her ballet. Some RGS girl she is.
All in all its a theam worth-while 71 bucks + 5 hours spent.

- Today is excursion day. So its a happy day.
Cause its been years since i last went for a class excursion.
Went Safti Officer Cadet School. Excellently brilliant.
Try to make sense out of them.

I'll miss you 1T25! Don't want to change my class.
But if God really want it that way, so be it.

I so want my guy to be an ocs guy!

Carrots

Ginger went out to the fields one day to hunt for carrots for lunch. Hopping on hind limbs, Ginger look ahead of her and saw the green field with sweet-smelling carrots somewhere beneath and ground.
(but of course being an experienced rabbit over the past 10months of her studies under professor Jeromebegone, and through her last trip out there, which she was hurt very very badly, Ginger knows that hunters make traps around in the fields)

So Ginger trained very hard back at her tunnel, so ensure that she can hop past all the traps in the field. (on average 6hours a day?)

Fully prepared, Ginger took with her a 4.3inch Mac paring knife and started hopping around the fields, in search for good carrots around.
(Mind you carrot is an herbaceous plant containing about 87% water, rich in mineral salts and vitamins B,C,D,E especially carotene).

After about 10min of hoping, Ginger's fur got caught in a small bush. Apparently there was wire bares hooking on to the fur. Ginger cut off the trapped fur and hopped away. Some noob trap that was, she thought.

The next 15min was smooth journey but no carrots yet. Logicallly. But just then, Ginger's left leg got snapped in a trap and she sees a hunter nearby with the gun locating her. In desperation, Ginger used the knife and severed off her leg then hopped away painfully, forgetting to bring the knife along.

Ginger hid behind the bush until she heard the hunter left and then continued her journey. Fortunately, after 2 leaps, Ginger saw a big carrot lying on the grass! So happily, Ginger hopped with all her might using the right hind limb onto the carrot. Little did Ginger knew that it was a trap and so she fell into the fake grass and into a hole bug by some idiots.

It was quite deep and given her one and only hind leg left it was almost impossible to jump out of the hole.

As evening draws near, a snake slitters into the hole and offered help to bring Ginger out.
'Snakes are enemies' Ginger recalled in one of Prof Jeromebegone's lecture. So Ginger bit the snake until it dies. Meanwhile Ginger lost half of her teeth bitting the snake and got her right ear bitten off by the snake.

Then taking the big carrot still left at the entrance of the hole, Ginger tried with all her might to reach back home by nightfall.

Ginger made it home but felt extremely terrible after all the incidents.

What screwed theam life, Gingerthought.
yet thanked God that she didn't die at the journey.
Ginger can't make up her mind really.

- Time to reward ourselves...

so sis & i went for island creamery on thurs after her higher chinese paper.

But before that i went to visit Tan lao shi! My ex-chinese tutor.

Made her a card and bought some tasty food for her but it turned cold.

Chatted with her till it was time for me to meet hui.

She went to Amaris' house to do whatever experiments.

She and her good friend did some of the craziest stuff...shan't mention.

Then we rushed over island creamery.

Met Tyas, her sis, her sis' two friends and Tiara!

They are such fun! ha.

hui ordered mudpie while i had double scoop c&c + nutella.

Then before eating we exchanged our orders.

So after licking them off for half an hour it turned like that:

Then headed off for a viola masterclass by Alexander Mishnaevsky.

Apparently the class makes me feel like switching over to viola instead.

It's cgda as well, octave(s) higher. So sounded good. imagine.

And the first one was Bach's 1st prelude! fantastic that is.

That girl has got talents man.

Then four others but i thought the last two were great too.

All got talents lah.

Then i saw Jiang Hansong! Oh man he's another got many talent!

and so hawt rot! Principal violist for ystco!

I think the talented girl is his. they are so paired!

I think the two hours there was so fun.

But so sad i didn't go to the one on the next day.

Mishnaevsky is one strict teacher, but funny at times.

Remind me of mr voo and lesson on saturday...

Resumed music class again but my ear got some problems.

As always, tone-deathness.

I don't even know why i agreed to serene. I'll die!

But lesson wise was still ok.

Scalings weren't good. Needa memorise all greade 4 ones.

And I was told to check all the past history of Satie and the piece.

Just because I'm going to learn play it. isn't it a little off?

Then fellowship was fun.

The p6-ers joined us for the first time. It's time anyway.

Really hope they can stay in fellowship and grow here.

So we learnt 3 things:

1. Experience God personally

2. Learn about God in a group.

3. Serve God while you are still young.

Abel, Osmond and Nigel joined my group.

Quite noisy but hope that they are learning something.

after which, went to Palm gerdens for F4 gathering.

But apparently i didn't even need to look after the kids.

They were playing iceman by themselves. I joined in a while.

Then chatted with Maple and Rachel. Both very sweet girls.

Sunday School today is sweet as ever.

The kids are naughty at times but still as cute!

So I'm glad to be able to help out there.*

SO much to learn with SO little time

Here's how it owrks. Before the industrial revolution, the Earth's atmosphere contained about 280 parts per million of carbon dioxide. That was a good amount - "good" defined as "what we were used to." Since the molecular strusture of carbon dioxide traps heat near the planet's surface that would otherwise radiate back out to apsce, civilisation grew up in a world whosr thermostat was set by that number. It equated to a global average temperature of about 57 degrees Fahrenheit, which in turn equated to all the places we built our cities, all the crops we learned to grow and eat, all the water supplies we learned to depend on, even the passage of the seasons that, at higher latitudes, set our psychological calenders. Once we started burning coal and gas oil to power our lives, that 280 number started to rise. When we began measuring in the late 1950s, it had already reached the 315 level. Now it's at 380, and increasing by roughly two parts per million annually. That doesn't sound like very much, but it turns out that the extra heat that CO2 traps, a couple of watts per square meter of the Earth's surface, is enough to warm the planet considerably. We're raised the temperature more than a degree Fahrenheit already. It';s impossible to precisely predict the consequences of any further increase in CO2 in the atmosphere. But the warming we've seen so far has started almost everything frozen on Earth to melting; it has changed seasons and rainfall patterns; it's set the sea to rising.

In the end, global warming presents the greatest test we humans have yet faced. Are we ready to change, in dramatic and prolonged ways, in order to offer a workable future to subsequet generations and diverse forms of life? If we are, new technologies and new habits offer some promise. But only if we move quickly and decisively - and with muturity we've rarely shown as a society or a species. It's our coming-of-age moment, and there are no certainties or gurantees. Only a window of possibility, closing fast but still ajar enough to let in some hope.

sorry typing is just seemingly fun especially since im now cut off from cello to prepare for theam promos acoming so this works out my fingers quite a fair bit and im still typing here un controllably cause it just wouldnt stop and even as im like supposed to ckick maplegoh now caue its blinking i still cannot stop typing cause when your fingers starts moving and brain starts coding genetic information to b sent to the neurons and through the axon the produce a series of signalling cascade via the activation of receptors at the membranes assuming that the ligand is hydrophilic and cannot pass through the hydrophobic phospholipid tails and needs either receptor tyrosine kinase or g protein coupled receptor to bring about a transfer of information across the membrane thereby phosphorylating the tyrosine protein in the intracellular site of the cells, that will initiate a signalling cascade down the signal transduction pathway and via phosphorylation and this creates a into the axon and create another action potential this will continue on as the propagation process until the current reaches the presynaptic membrane at the synaptic knob like for example the cholinergic synapse and causing the ca twoplus chemically gated channels to open up to encourage the influx of ca twoplus from the extracellular fluid and the ca twoplus will encourage the synaptic vesicles containing neurotransmitter to move towards the presynptic membrane and fuses wih it so that the neurotransmitter for example acetylcholineto be released into the synaptic cleft while the synaptic vesicles return back into the presynaptic knob to bring more acetylcholine or neurotransmitter to the synaptic cleft via exocytosis and the acetylcholine at the synaptic cleft will diffuse across to the postsynaptic membrane where there are chemically gated na plus and k plus ions channels embedded at the postsynaptic membrane to be activated by the neurotransmitterand when activated it will open up and there will be influx of na plus and k plus ions into the postsynaptic membrane but na plus ion channels will first be opened up to allow ba plus to enter into the relatively negatively charged postsynaptic membrane to bring about depolarization till the absolute refractory is reached and na plus channels will close while k plus ions channels will open up to repolarize so the the potential difference can go back to resting potential and this will cause propagation of signalling casdes agin and the whole thing is copied and paste as per above and i cannot believe that im typing all this out from my brain without my notes and im still thinking baout toing down how the restin potential can be maintained via the na plus and k plus pumps along the membrances which will cause 3 na plus ions to move out into the extracellular site while only two k plus ions hence the resting potential can be maintained at negative seventy and i forgot the units already ah great well done hannah you already did a quite a fair bit of memory work its like one oh three now which means i have to fellowship soon cause compoulsory prayermeeting is at two thrity and i havent had lunch and i forgot to type that the synaptic cleft will have delay of about zero point two to zero point five miliseconds because the synaptic diffusion takes tim and something else which means i have to go read up le and i just remembered the last page dropped off so i got to go staple it back and yes typing is addictive especially when youre cut off from cello for one whole week already now and my FRIDAY

1. Had teachers day celebration in school and it ended early.

So thankful for that. really.

And then went to the canteen to celebrate Mr Lim's (cf) birthday.

And also teachers day for all other teachers.

After 5 long years... no wonder she said me and nic changed a lot.

It was a good time catching up and its fun nonetheless.

3. By Gods miracle, I managed to get home to bring my cello

So i gave Mr Voo his gift but its knida sad cause I

did so badly that day, out of tune three-quarts of the time.

Tsk.

And he wants me to finish up til the forth position studies by monday.

Cause I'm gonna learn fifth position next.

Dead.

4. Went for math tuition after that and theres the olympaid teacher.

Intigration is tough.

So is handling the piles and piles of formula.

5. Did not return to Kranji for the pure reason of: No time.

Promised to do so next year. Just so its justified.

SATURDAY

6. Its Happy Daoshi day! And chuqing and I was the ic.

Yipeee. Did pretty gifts for them as a fellowship.

I thought the whole actvity was quite fun big big fun.

It's a good ime for us to appreciate their presence and purpose

of why God put them amongst us.

SUNDAY

7. Went for Sunday school and its so rewarding!
I had so much fun playing with Joelle and Siyin today. haha.
They are such cute 4-5year olds! And received pretty gifts too.

Incentives to work harder.

Decided to let Carrie and Joelle draw in the book Christine gave.

And Siyin is such adorable kid who stand firm on her view of

"this (a tomato) is not a fish! It's not!"

Cause I tried to psycho her that a tomato is actually called - fish.

It's really nice to be their sunday school teacher.

Seeing them learn God's word.

And I actually do learn something from each lesson.

Like having faith to walk on water, to be healed.

Bacause God is Love.*

Anyways, the Chem SPA yesterday was good, i think.
Vivi did lots of wrongs and she's worried sick! (Its A lvl mind you)
ok, but she's gotten over it, cause she went towning of them all.
So no one went islandcream with me and I went home.

Bath, sleep, went through scalings + 2 pieces, lunched, then

-Ok, officially lost my Nalgene bottle after donkeyhonkey years.
~~Delibratedly~~ Incidentally left it in one of the teacher's drawer
or is it on the steel railings? or is it in the bus-stop? or... don't know.
But anyway, I'm gonna get myself a new one!
Heard of Siyuan's story of her 3 nalgene bottle.
And so I shall not get a pink one. Purple perhaps? :)

Practice yesterday was so enriching! Learnt so much.
Esp when Sophia transpose the piece for you!
Can't thank her enough. hehe. So to do so, we shall make her
perform with us for the lunch-time performance! Whee! Good idea.
I still like ye he hua de xin and amazing grace. nicenice.

Done with Chem mock paper. It's much much better than i imagined.
But back to the main point, we have to study to make it easy.

-Fun day out with Siyuan on a foodie trip and partial window shopping.

Met her after school aka Bio Mass Lecture

Had waffles and ice cream at Gelare first. Shared half each. Yummy.

She brought me to That CD Shop, big, but rather disorganised.

My main destination is still HMV in heeren.

Walk and talk, and met this tall bell tower, with a clock.

Then we headed to Wisma, just as it is gonna rain.

Seeked shelter at Ding Tai Feng (what an excuse). hehe.

The food there is so good. As from her recommndation.

Had mushroon noddles

and 10 dumplings (shared, of course).

So she shot me too.

She's really a 'jiang'-fan.

Went around looking at pretty clothes and Miss Selfridge have 50% off.

She explained difference between beautiful and pretty.

Then finally, reached HMV! Horaay!~

Haven't been there for donkey years, so lost my way.

Luckily Siyuan brought me there, haha.

Spent a long time choosing my Bach Suite.

So tempted to get Rostropovich, just as Mr Voo advised, but its EMI.

And I can't load EMI into the itunes, much less my ipod.

So after testing all those CDs and listening so ever painfully,

chose Ralph Krshbaum! Attended one of his Dvorak concerts.

Went to Informatics yesterday.

But no one else was there to play badminton with me,

so I did my work by myself there instead. (with occasional help)

Cause there's been some procession going on and I can hear music.

It sort of reminds me of the time Qiurong, Sophia and I

practiced Amazing Garce, just for fun. Of course.

Wonder if we can play it for real at someone's wake.

The music is going on and off.

Would someone please ~~employ~~ let us perform in their wake.

The music sound a little buddist-like.

How I wish they were christians.

And its so wierd. It sounds a little hyped-up.

With drums and someone speaking, and a little brass.

Which sounds muted, and was that erhu I hear?

On Monday (a.k.a Today), We met up to "shop".
Supposed to buy a lot of stuff, but ended up none of us did.

They are really too slow, and I'm rushing for time.

And Menveer is the president head of student council! om.

Guys are born-runners, so Liwen & I had a hard time catching up.

But we won 5th position! Good job done.

- Yup, it's music day last saturday and me and qiurong

decided to practice some duet pieces before the programme.

So we tried Amazing Graze.

Sophia helped us to arrange the piece for trumpet and cello.

So Qiurong played main melody and me the bass. (duh!)

Practicing has never been THIS fun. Seriously.

Especially when you're playing christian pieces.

As suggested by Sophia, the 1-a-month policy.
That's what I'm ~~trying to~~ embarking on till end-of-A.
At most only 1 to 3 of them.
Deteriorating studies + increasing workload and all...

- Pretty ballet dipicting a very sad love story.

Went to watch it with Shuwen yesterday.

It was so fun! But a little dizzling before the dance started.

We went there for a dinner picnic too!

With lots of food of course.

There were many people there too.

- Didn't regret going for service yesterday instead of Cellisimo!
It's really good and I liked the prayer meeting part.
The sermon was very enriching too =) Reminds me of how
Jesus really go onto the cross for us, 2000 years ago.

After which, me and Doreen went over to Siyuan's house
for a sleep-over. It's so super funny! Doreen and her stories!

But before that, we went for a movie - The Orphanage.
Vrey nice yet eriee. The director is really good.

We had Udon + miso at 3.20am in the morning. haha.
Ya and so I'm kindof tired now.

But since I'm still guilty of not revising bio as promised,
I guess it's time I do something.
The extra bio lesson was good and Mr Goh said I better
start revising everything N.O.W.

Had Delifrance for lunch, so filled. Siyuan is so fortunate.
I wouldn't survive under Doreen's sister!

Only had 1 day of practice this week and I'm suppose to
finish up the cello studies by tomorrow. So dead!*

- Meeting Mr Goh tomorrow before maundy thurs service.
For bio of course. I'm really drowning in it!

School work has been pouring in, and I'm really exhausted.
four H2 isn't fun at all!
Gotten my chinese book from Inez. Million thanks!

The bassoon & oboe recital is very nice too!

Yihui's bassoon tutor was performing. So she went.

There were only about fifteen people attending that recital!

But I liked the grand concerto by Hummel many many.

The oboe-ist is super funny.

He was dressed in this the baroque-style costume together

with the accompanist. It's super hilarious.

I thought the Sonatine and nine variations were pretty good.

Oh ya, and the fantabulous Krishbraum concert!
He and that Montag Cello! Oh whoosh!
Yo-yo Ma has got the Montag Petunia one! I want one too!

Met cello teacher at clementi before the concert.
Apparently, he went for the concert too.

He promised that if I finish the whole page of cello studies

by this saturday, I can learn other stuff. Finally.

After the intermission, a head popped up: Ryan.
So scary yet pleasant to know that another friend is watching
such marvellous concert too! Krish is really really good!
But I guess not as good as when he was much younger.

No more stoning and concerts for me anytime soon.
So much for getting good grades!*

I'm really so busy with hols, so let's see what the pictures

After which, I got home to find a sick but equally annoying sister.

She was caught in the rain after Indian dance and maths.

And I'm trying real hard to listen to individual parts again.

Teacher Vignesh went with me, so it was still quite enjoyable.

He's really such a teacher la! haha. Learnt quite some stuff.

Group Outing

- Last Saturday, we had group outing!

Two groups went Zoo, one group went Botanics,

and guess what, my group went... NUS!

Yep, our original science centre plan wasn't available,

so ended up going to NUS to talk walk and rot.

It was fun, nevertheless, eye-opening.

And best of all, it's Chuqing's and Sophia's school-to-be!

Only Chuqing, Sophia, Esther and I went, ~~gladly~~ sadly.

We went to UCC first and watched NUS dance ensemble.

Dance programme titled Evocation.

It was nice, but quite sick, for that matter of fact.

But anyway, after which, we went to Yong Siew Toh!

And took our group photos there!

Learn so much and tonation is so much better.
The 14 hours is not wasted after all!

Mr Chan is performing for the concert later!
It turns out that he was the from NUS' orchestra for 6 years.
And is in the alumni orchestra now. What a teacher!
Still can't belive that.
I want to be in NUS symphony orchestra as well!
That's one more to my dream column.

But I'll be going to the concert later anyway.
It'll be good, especially when Elizabeth Tan is the soloist!
It's a Haydn piece.

Beethoven and Strvinsky is up later too.
And he said they prepared a funny piece for encore!

I'll be doing an advance lesson next week.

It's so nice! Worth my time applying for the approval to watch it!

- Have been listening to so much recordings.
Though Vicknish kept emphasising that I should
listen to pieces other than cello, I can't.
(He has so many trumpet recordings in his ipod too!)

So here are some of the three best I love so much:
1. Yo-yo Ma's Cello Concerto 3rd movement by Elgar

Apparently, this is one of the few pieces my dad
thinks is really good on Yo-yo Ma.

Bet he hasn't heard it played by Jacqueline!

2. M. Rostropovich's Cello Concerto No.1 by Haydn

3. Last but not least, my favourite... Jacqueline Du Pré's
Sonata No.3 in A II. Scherzo by Beethoven.

This one is wonderful, beautiful and heartbreaking.

- I realised something:

I can't understand why, but here's the truth.
I can't talk to people I don't know,
and it takes me at least 3 days to talk to someone.

But when music is concern,
I can suddenly change personality.
And kept blabbering on and on.
And talk to complete strangers!

Yihui said she thought I was a super quiet girl
during the few days when I sat beside her.
But one question changed everything:
"Do you go for concerts?" I asked randomly,
while looking through the esplanade booklet
in search for a concert to go for.
"ya..." came the monotonous and dead voice.
Then whatever could happen, happened.
She said I was like a talking machine,
talking on and on and on, so talkative!
Am I? Oh dear.

Ya, and that's what happened, and is happening.

I do realise however, the first day I went to band,
I talked a lot, and can laugh normally like with Joey.
Cause its about music! classical music!
Musical instruments and making good music.

Sigh... and I realise very little people can stand this
music maddness of mine.
Probably only Joey and Shuwen can stand me.
And my condition is getting worse.
Yihui is still trying hard to get used to it.

Hope God can put more music fanatics around me!
And some great musicians who can teach me too!*

O's results

- Skip school on thursday morning and went

straight to cck to meet Jiayin, Shuwen, Joey.

Ended up I went canteen alone to wait them.

Guess I was really starving!

So at 1.45, there was a prayer meeting and we

went into the hall awaiting for the ~~horruble~~ results.

There were some talks, then announcing of scholars.

As usual, there were: Yanchong, Sokting, Helen,

Yuhui, Zehang, Xiongjie, Michelle and a lot.

Most were from my class, 4F!!! Woot! Go 4F!

Then results slips given out by register number.

I walked up to Miss Lee and Miss Tan,

shake their hands with my cold clammy one,

took my two pieces of paper,

signed against my name,

and went back to my seat. Shiver, hyperventilate.

I took a long time before finally peeping the paper.

After viewing my results, Helen asked me how it went.

I didn't know whether to be happy or not.

On one hand, it is God's grace that I got L1R5: 11

My initial calculation was 14 to 16 points.

On the other hand, I so want to get below 10 points.

That was what my parents wanted me to get too.

But nevertheless, I must really thank God.

I can't go throught O levels without him, REALLY.

On friday, we had lingshi pactice at T21

So Ben and Sophia were there.

After the quick practice, Sophia went to dig out my cello.

They tried playing Canon in D! lol.

It's the first time Sophia touch the cello, and she played this!

After we finished two page of studies,

Mr Chan finally allowed me to do Perpetual Movement in D!

He thought it was a really boring piece.

On saturday, there was BAND!!! I love BAND!

Luckily dad drive me to school with the trumpet.

Phew. And I had diarreoh before that!

I managed to do a high C! Cheers to that!

So Vicknish came to teach me the chromatic sclaes.

It's so fun + challenging. Run out of breathe!

I was almost late for tuanqi, but thank God,

he planned everything. Cause dad happen to appear,

so he drove me there! Thank God 100%!

For fellowship was eat, drink, play, merriment.

So there were fun games and of course food!!!

Can' believe Brahm actually went nj! So jealous!

Well, left a 6pm and reached Yong Siew Toh at 6.50pm.

Grabed some finger food and went for the class.

We were on time. And another AJ trumpeter joined.

David Elton was there early, and when we arrived,

he asked what each of us play.

Most were trumpet and thrombone, but

there was me cello, and two other violin and bass!

I was so shocked and excited for him!

He played higher notes = more difficult.

But it sounded quite nice! What a senior!

So David gave us some stuff to practise on. So nice.

He's going to play Mahler's third with SSO this weekend.

Far East Plaza - Galera for ice cream!

I had waffle + Tiramisu Ice cream... Super nice!!!

These notes were written for the Noodle King uncle,

when he was sick and couldn't make noodles for us.

He's well now. Thank God for that.

We prayed for him during morning assembly.

I've learnt a lot, and two points he said,

Vicknish brought it up during practice before that!

1) Be energy efficient - play the pitch accurately.

2) Listen to music of all instrument,

not just what you're learinng.

The whole masterclass was super informal. (I love it!)

So David Elton is talking to us face to face at just 3m.

I brought back the trumpet to practise.

Have to get full range C to C by sat!

Good thing there's no school on friday.
